Jim Brogan, MBA, is a well-known financial educator, author and radio talk-show host. Jim was named the 2011 National Advisor of the Year by Senior Market Advisor Magazine, the industry’s leading publication for advisors specializing in retirement planning services.
Each weekend, Jim hosts “More Living with Jim Brogan,” East Tennessee’s leading resource for citizens over age 50. This interactive talk show can be heard each Saturday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 am on NewsTalk 98.7 FM, WOKI. Each Saturday, Jim and his nationally-recognized guests address a broad range of issues of importance to retirees and soon-to-be retirees. In addition to his radio show, Jim is a contributor for WBIR Channel 10 NBC, appearing monthly to discuss topics impacting retirees and soon-to-be retirees.
During the week, Jim serves as president and founder of Brogan Financial, a business he has dedicated to serving the unique and often complex financial needs of retirees, as well as those getting ready to retire. In addition, Jim also serves as the chief financial officer of Brogan Financial, and monitors and manages all client investment portfolios.
Jim teaches courses through the Professional and Personal Development Department at The University of Tennessee and the Business and Community Outreach Department at Pellissippi State Community College’s Hardin Valley and Blount County campuses. Jim also serves on the Advisory Council for The University of Tennessee’s Department of Finance.Because of his extensive knowledge and experience, Jim is recognized as one of the nation’s top experts on the IRS’s complex rules governing retirement account distributions.
Jim’s firm, Brogan Financial, is an SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm. Jim is a Certified Estate and Trust Specialist (CES), a Certified Retirement Financial Advisor (CRFA), and he holds his Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) from The University of Tennessee.
Jim is committed to the local community and volunteers with his church, The University of Tennessee’s College of Business as a mentor and awards judge, and several charitable organizations in the area.
Jim is a lifelong East Tennessean. He currently resides in Knoxville with his wife, Dee Dee, and two daughters.
Jim Kraeske began his financial services career in 2006 with a move to Knoxville from Nashville. He joined Brogan Financial in the spring of 2009 as a Financial Advisor.
Jim holds the Certified Income Specialist designation (CIS) from the Institute of Business and Finance. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Tennessee and is a former small business owner.
Originally from Clarksville, Tennessee, Jim lives with his wife Angie and two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and exploring the beauty of East Tennessee with his family.
Peter joined Brogan Financial in 2013 as a Financial Advisor. Peter brings over 20 years of financial industry experience. Prior to relocating to Knoxville, Peter was a Director of Equities and Derivatives with Deutsche Asset Management in New York. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Maine.
Originally from Chatham New Jersey, he currently resides in Knoxville with his wife Jenny and two daughters. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, home renovation projects and spending time with his family.
Dee Dee Brogan, wife of Jim Brogan, is an integral part of the Brogan Financial team. Dee Dee’s primary responsibilities include overseeing personnel operations and assisting with client services. Dee Dee has a passion for making sure the needs of both Brogan Financial employees and clients are always met.
Dee Dee and Jim founded Brogan Financial in 2001. Dee Dee is a native of Columbia, South Carolina and earned a degree in Music Education from Columbia College in her hometown. The couple married in 1993 and Dee Dee moved to Knoxville shortly thereafter. They have two daughters.
Outside the office Dee Dee is well known for her singing talent. Dee Dee released her first album “Dee Dee Brogan December Five & Twenty” in November 2011. Dee Dee has also toured with the country with Billy Graham, sang with Glenn Draper and the Lake Junaluska Singers at The White House, and has performed nationally and internationally. Dee Dee can often be found singing at The University of Tennessee ball games, at Knoxville events, and at church.
Brandon joined Brogan Financial in 2013 and serves as Operations Manager. Brandon is responsible for overseeing all operational and administrative aspects of Brogan Financial.
Brandon was raised in Knoxville and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2005 with a B.S. in Finance with a Collateral in Marketing. He began his career as the Operations Managers for a regional specialty retailer. He then moved on to become a Consultant for a Knoxville based Microsoft partner.
Brandon now resides in Knoxville with his wife Lindsey and their two boys. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with the family and cheering on UT football.
Amy joined Brogan Financial in 2013 as an administrative assistant. Amy’s primary responsibilities are greeting and assisting clients, as well as assisting staff in general office duties.
Amy moved to Knoxville from Murfreesboro, where she graduated from the University of Tennessee earning a Bachelor of Architecture.
Originally from Colden, NY, Amy resides in Knoxville with her husband Will and their dog Zeb. In her spare time, Amy enjoys doing crafts, cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
John Kerrigan is a research analyst and financial advisor, responsible for assisting in research, portfolio analysis and construction, and tracking global and economic indicators. He joined Brogan Financial in 2015.
John has previous experience in the private banking sector as an analyst working with clients with assets in excess of $10 million. He also has assisted small businesses with setting up and managing credit lines as liquidity sources.
He received a B.S. in Finance with minors in Economics and Statistics from the University of Tennessee. He is an active member and volunteer with Optimist Club of Knoxville and Young Professionals of Knoxville.
